The Best Airbnb House In The UK?

With a heated indoor swimming pool, spacious living areas, beds for 15 people and a large outdoor hot tub, could this be one of the best Airbnb houses in the UK.

Introducing The Cornhouse.

When travelling solo, Airbnb’s are generally my accommodation of preference, after hostels. But when it comes to finding group accommodation, Airbnb has some of the best – and most varied – options.

Back in July I began hunting for a house that slept 15 people, and had the space and options needed for a fun weekend away. It would be for my fiancees 30th birthday, so whilst space was important, it also needed a few added highlights to make it extra special.

After hunting around the UK for best locations and the best properties, I finally found the Cornhouse, a 15-bed house located in the picturesque village of Norton St. Philip, around 7 miles South of Bath. It was perfect.

It was the right price (and cheaper than many other group accommodation options).

It was in the right location (a country village with a couple of lovely pubs)

Spacious kitchen and living areas (who doesn’t love cooking on an Aga?)

Small games room (added bonus number one)

Heated indoor swimming pool (added bonus number two)

Large outdoor hot tub (this features list is getting ridiculous).

Does that make The Cornhouse one of the best Airbnb houses in the UK? I think so. AND it has parking for six cars. AND there are lovely country walks to pubs, ranging from 3 to 6 miles. AND it was one of the best weekend’s my fiancee has ever had (Of course it was).

On the Friday night I made a big pot of chilli for everyone, then on the Saturday we walked to a quintessential British country pub called the Fox & Badger in Wellow – great ales and even better food. We then headed into Bath for dinner, and arrived back at the house for prosecco and a hot tub. PROSECCO AND A HOT TUB. It was ideal.

I’ve stayed in many Airbnb’s around the world, but this takes the crown…so far. We even left a couple of pots behind, and the property managers organised a pick up so we could get them back. Top work!

Where Is It? Norton St. Philip, near Bath
Sleeps? 15. All double rooms, with one twin room and one triple room.
Cost? It worked out around £125 per person, for two nights
Rating? 4.5 out of 5 (it’s an old house, so is missing a few modern touches, but otherwise brilliant). Any downsides? The house doesn’t take dogs. That’s pretty much it.
